E-procurement or interface connection is nothing other than the communication between the e-commerce company's merchandise management system and the wholesaler of its choice. There are many different ways in which this communication can take place. We currently have well over 200 different programmes for merchandise management systems in our database. This wide range means that our customers can choose a system that is customised to their needs. However, depending on your needs, one merchandise management system may be better than another. As LICHTZENTRALE, we endeavour to connect our customers' merchandise management systems to us as well as possible, regardless of the connection - whether via an interface or via DATANORM. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the "right" merchandise management system for you, as the requirements of the various software solutions are always different. However, as we only have limited possibilities to support you in the event of problems with your software, we generally recommend that you take out a support package with your respective software provider.

What can my ERP system do?

Not all software is able to set up an interface connection. Some can only import DATANORM or invoices.
With the LICHTZENTRALE DATANORM, you can import our article master directly into your merchandise management system, e.g. to compare prices or to work with other interfaces afterwards. With other interfaces such as OCI/IDS and UGL, you have the opportunity to speed up and optimise your work processes. Further details on the various functions of the interfaces can be found below.

Welche Arten von Schnittstellen gibt es?


This type of interface is a combination of a merchandise management system and an ordering platform. In most cases, this is an online shop. Either individual items or the entire range are transferred to the merchandise management system via an XML file. This type of interface often proves advantageous for items that are not in DATANORM. 
This method facilitates the processing of large orders with many items and also those with many special items that have to be entered manually.

There are merchandise management systems that cannot include special items in the item master via IDS, although this is communicated. We have developed a special solution for this.

What is the difference between OCI and IDS?

OCI can only transfer data to your merchandise management system, so communication only takes place in one direction. 

IDS can not only transfer the data, but also send it back. This also enables enquiries and orders via IDS. Depending on the software, IDS can also be used to compare prices with other suppliers.


With a connection via UGL, not only is data read into the merchandise management system and orders placed, but all other functions relating to the ordering process can also be used within the system.

Request, import and order quotations and import order confirmations, delivery notes and invoices. We provide you with the appropriate document as required via our FTP server.


DATANORM is an electronic catalogue that can be imported into the merchandise management system. However, special items that are not in this catalogue cannot be imported, but must be maintained manually by you - including the prices. 
On request, we can send you our e-catalogue at any time or you can request the files from the online shop.

DATANORM Online is a special feature here. You can call up the DATANORM online within your merchandise management system, which simplifies the import process.

Recognised electronic invoice format that is automatically checked by your system. This type of invoice replaces the classic paper invoice and is also valid with your tax office.
